Adriana (Francesca) Lima出生於巴西的Salvador da Bahia， 13歲時經模特兒大賽被發掘，並在三年後簽約Elite Model Management。
自此以後，她曾接拍Anna Sui Jeans、 bebe、 Gasoline、 Mossimo、 BCBG、 Keds、 Guess?、 XOXO、 Armani等的廣告； 亦曾為Cynthia Rowley、 Vera Wang、 Christian Lacroix、 Emanuel Ungaro、 Betsey Johnson、 Girls Rule、 Richard Tyler、 Giorgio Armani、 Fendi、 Randolph Duke、 Ralph Lauren、 Valentino等等時裝品牌走過catwalk。
不過她至今最出名的應該是她替Victoria's Secret做的modelling和時裝表演吧。 她自2000年便已為VS的catalog做模特兒，並在2001年起參與電視轉播的Victoria's Secret Fashion Show。 現在她可以說已是VS的頭號模特兒了。
Adriana Lima亦在2001年參與了短片《The Follow》的演出。 該片由黃家衛執導、 Andrew Kevin Walker編劇，全長只八分多鐘。共同演出的還有Clive Owen和Mickey Rourke等。
